Scope of the Symposium

The 2nd Annual Korea-USA Joint Symposium on Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Technologies will provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the hydrogen and fuel cell related topics in Korea and USA. 

The theme for the sympoium is Understanding Barriers for Reliable Fuel Cell Operations.
   

All the manuscripts will be published in the conference proceedings.  The abstract and the manuscript should be prepared in MS word formats in English as an official language of the symposium.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

The participants who would like to present papers are requested to submit the abstracts according to the following guidelines:

  1. Abstract submissions should be made by e-mail attachment to Dr. Tak-Hyoung LIm (ddak@kier.re.kr) in Korea and to Prof. Woo-Kum Lee (leew@engr.sc.edu) in USA by January 31, 2007.
  2. Use single spacing throughout; abstract should not exceed 300 words (one page, 12 pt. Arial).
  3. Use as concise a title as possible.
  4. Presenting author should be indicated by (*).  Give contact information for the presenting author: name, address, email, phone and fax numbers.
  5. Include five keywords and indicate the preferred mode of presentation (either oral or poster).
  6. The submitting authors will be notified by February 15, 2007 about the status of their papers.
  7. Final papers are due on or before March 22, 2007.

Guidelines for Preparation of Camera-ready Manuscripts

  1. All manuscripts must be written in English.  Page limits will not apply, but the contributed paper should have a minimum of 4 pages.
  2. Each manuscript should begin with an abstract (not more than 300 words), typed single spaced, five inches wide, and centered.   The abstract should be on the first page of the text, following the paper title, author's names and affiliations, not a separate sheet.
  3. The final page dimension should be on standard A4 paper, leaving 1.25 inch margins on the top, bottom, left and right sides.  Use Times New Roman font : All text in 12 pt expect the paper title (14 pt, bold).  Capitals are to be used for title and authors, while bold face is for headings and subheadings.
  4. As for the tables, they are to be designed to have a uniform style throughout the proceeding volume with the caption of the table placed on the the top.  Figures are to be prepared in black and white in high resolution for half-tone illustrations or images.  The pictures are to be sharp for reproduction to avoid being rejected.  Color images are not acceptable.  It is important to note the illustrations such as figures, tables, chemical equations should be embedded in the text where they are cited.
  5. The proceedings will be distributed to all the registered technical participants.  The manuscript will be printed directly without any further editing.  Photocopies are not acceptable.  As there will be no proof corrections allowed we advise all authors to check their manuscript thoroughly before submission.
  6. The manuscript submission should be made by e-mail attachments to Prof. Woo-Kum Lee (leew@engr.sc.edu) in USA by March 22, 2007.
